Sunday 10th September 2017 was a special Sunday for us in Enniskillen Presbyterian Church as we acknowledged with thankfulness and deep appreciation the 30 years of faithful ministry by Rev David Cupples in the congregation.
On this unique occasion, we welcomed as guest speaker Rev Alberto de Paula and his wife Luciane from Broughty Ferry Presbyterian Church in Scotland who ministered to the congregation in 2004 when Rev Cupples was on sabbatical.
It was also a great joy to have the Cousley family with this on this their first Sunday back in Enniskillen on home assignment from their MAF placement in Australia.
After the service, there was a most enjoyable congregational meal in the Island Hall. Places were set for over 150 and the hall was filled- so many commented on the warm and friendly atmosphere. As Clerk of Session, Kate Doherty paid a warm tribute to Rev Cupples and then invited him to cut a cake to mark this significant milestone in his life and the life of our congregation.
Sincere thanks are due to Alison Annan and Pamela Rainey who made the arrangements for the meal, to those who contributed desserts and vegetarian food, those who set up the Hall on Friday evening, and to those who on the day helped to serve, work in the kitchen and clear up.
A wonderful team effort.
